Aston Martin has become the final team to reveal its 2026 Formula 1 livery at a season launch event in Saudi Arabia.

The Silverstone-based team's refined green colour scheme, which was presented on a showcar and features a matte satin finish for the first time, comes after Aston Martin ran its new AMR26 for the first time at the Barcelona test last month in exposed carbonfibre.

That outing in black was, as team principal Adrian Newey said "partially, in truth, because we didn't have time to paint" the car.

The livery adds the final touch at the start of what will be an important week for Aston Martin in testing in Bahrain, as it bids to get up to speed with its new car following its delayed start; it only appeared late on day four of five at Barcelona and therefore missed over a day of its maximum allocation.

The AMR26 is the first car produced under Newey's leadership and the first for Aston Martin as a works team as it begins its alliance with Honda.

While the huge investment that team owner Lawrence Stroll has put in has yet to deliver a victory, he said on stage at the launch that what he was building was what was needed to succeed in grand prix racing.

"Formula 1 demands courage and rewards those willing to build something extraordinary and remain unwavering in their ambition," said Stroll.

Off the back of Stroll's investment leading to Aston Martin's updated Silverstone facilities, lead driver Fernando Alonso said he was in no doubt about how critical a year this was for shaping the team's long-term future.

"I feel this is a very important moment for the team," he said. "It's the very first time we are a works team. We have all the new pieces coming together.

"We have the factory now completed. We have the windtunnel [at Silverstone], we have Honda and we have a new set of regulations, so everything combines in a very important season for the team.

"[This is] what I feel is the beginning of something important for the next coming years.

"I am very proud, very excited to be part of the project and we are really looking forward to work flat out to have the success that I think this team deserves."

The livery was eventually unveiled, but a glitchy stream kept fans waiting.
