Austrian Grand Prix F1 starting grid 2026 as Russell keeps pole

Austrian Grand Prix qualifying pacesetter George Russell kept hold of his pole position after the Formula 1 stewards ruled he had not breached yellow flag regulations on his best lap.

The yellows came out for Max Verstappen's penultimate-corner crash as other drivers were finished their final Q3 laps, but the officials agreed with Mercedes that Russell had only been shown a single yellow as he arrived at the scene and lifted off sufficiently to stay within the rules.
