F1's Lego drivers' parade returns at Silverstone with a car for every driver

Lego will once again take over the Formula 1 Drivers' Parade at the 2026 British Grand Prix, with all 22 drivers receiving their own fully drivable Lego-built car for the first time.

The Lego Drivers' Parade will take place ahead of Sunday's F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, with the entire grid set loose in miniature single-seater cars constructed from more than 28,000 Lego bricks each.

The activation builds on the Lego drivers' parade that debuted at the Miami Grand Prix in 2025, when F1 drivers took to the track in 10 team-themed LEGO cars. For the 2026 edition, Lego and Formula 1 have significantly expanded on the concept.

Rather than sharing 10 cars between teams like the Miami GP 2025, every driver on the current Formula 1 grid will drive an individual Lego minicar inspired by their team's 2026 livery. Team colours, logos and driver numbers have all been incorporated into the designs.

According to Lego, the cars are fully drivable and capable of reaching speeds of up to 25km/h.

"We always listen to our fans, and it was clear from the 2025 Miami Grand Prix Drivers Parade that both fans and drivers wanted more," said LEGO Group chief product and marketing officer Julia Goldin.

"We're back with a 2.0 version in a brand-new format, bringing even more fun and excitement to the parade."

Formula 1 chief commercial officer Emily Prazer said the original concept had become one of the championship's most successful race-weekend activations.

"Last year, the F1 Lego Drivers' Parade was one of the most memorable and talked-about moments of the season," said Prazer.

"This year, we’re building on that moment to create an incredible spectacle for fans attending the British Grand Prix and those watching globally."

The 22 Lego Formula 1 minicars took more than 6400 hours to design and build at Lego's Czech facility by a team of 20 designers, engineers and builders.

Each car weighs approximately 280kg, including around 65kg of Lego bricks, and uses standard go-kart wheels beneath the bodywork.

The Silverstone appearance is the latest project from Formula 1's growing partnership with Lego, which has produced several high-profile activations over the past two seasons, including special British Grand Prix trophies, the Las Vegas Grand Prix cooldown car and the original Miami drivers' parade.

Fans will be able to watch the Lego drivers' parade live at 1pm BST on the Formula 1 YouTube channel.
