One-of-a-kind F1 helmet to be auctioned in aid of Make-A-Wish

A custom Disney-themed Formula 1 helmet signed by drivers during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone is set to be auctioned to raise funds for Make-A-Wish.

The helmet forms part of a new collaboration between Disney, F1 and Make-A-Wish, with proceeds supporting the charity's work granting wishes for children living with critical illnesses outside the United States.

Designed by Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse, alongside Disney consumer products global creative director Bobby Kim, the helmet combines Mickey Mouse artwork with F1-inspired design elements. It was produced in partnership with Bell Racing and features a matte black finish with red and yellow accents, F1 branding and a Make-A-Wish star integrated into the artwork.

The helmet was signed by all of the current Formula 1 drivers, bar Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez, across the Silverstone weekend.

The helmet will be auctioned off through F1 Authentics, with registration opening on July 7, 2026 and bidding taking place from July 11-18. Net proceeds from the sale will benefit Make-A-Wish International.

Several Make-A-Wish children and their families attended Silverstone as part of the initiative, where they were given the opportunity to see the helmet up close and meet Make-A-Wish France ambassador Pierre Gasly during the race weekend.

The project builds on a relationship between Disney and Make-A-Wish that stretches back more than four decades. The first official Make-A-Wish experience at Disneyland took place more than 45 years ago and, according to the organisations, Disney has since helped fulfil more than 175,000 wishes globally.

A second version of the helmet will go on public display at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, from August 14-16.
