Teams Championship: The story so far

Four events into the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, NAPA Racing UK sits at the top of the Teams Championship in the mid-season break. Behind it, the fight has been tense, with three squads sharing the same points total at one stage of the campaign.

Donington Park

The Alliance Racing-run outfit set the tone from the opening round, its Ford Focus Titanium matched only on points by the Audi A3 Saloon of LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing. NAPA Racing UK pulled clear across the remaining two rounds at Donington Park, posting the biggest points tally of any team in both, while WSR came away ahead of Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport after the two teams were tied on points throughout rounds one and two. It left NAPA Racing UK with a healthy lead after the opening weekend, with LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing second and the Surrey-based squad third.

Brands Hatch

NAPA Racing UK collected the most points of any team in the opening race once more, with Team VERTU splitting the Fords and the BMWs for a strong second on points. LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing hit back to post the best team tally in round two, ahead of NAPA Racing UK, before the EXCELR8 Motorsport-run outfit took the most points of the round in round three. The upshot heading out of Kent was one of the tightest midfield battles of the season: WSR, Team VERTU and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport all left Brands Hatch locked together on the same points total for third in the championship.

Snetterton

WSR posted the best team tally of the opening round at Snetterton, after taking pole position in the Qualifying Race, with Team VERTU second on points. NAPA Racing UK bounced back to top the points in round two, the Mercedes A35 Saloon of Cataclean Plato Racing enjoying its best result of the season with the second-highest team tally. WSR and the Alliance Racing-run outfit were tied for the most points once more in round three, with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport's Toyota Corolla GR Sport also on the pace. It left LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport separated by a single point for fourth in the standings leaving Norfolk.

Oulton Park

NAPA Racing UK posted the biggest points tally of any team in both round one and round two at Oulton Park, with Team VERTU and WSR the closest challengers across the weekend. The Surrey-based squad closed out the event with the best team tally of round three. It capped an event that saw NAPA Racing UK extend its advantage at the head of the Teams Championship, while Team VERTU's consistency across the four events carried the Hyundai i30 N squad up to third overall, with WSR second.

1 - NAPA Racing UK | 334

2 - WSR | 228

3 - Team VERTU | 216

4 - LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing | 186

5 - Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport | 168

6 - Cataclean Plato Racing | 132

7 - Restart Racing | 129

8 - Speedworks Corolla Racing | 103

9 - Steel Seal with Power Maxed Racing | 69

NAPA Racing UK's advantage is a significant one heading to Hampshire, but the battle for the remaining places on the road has been anything but settled, with WSR, Team VERTU, LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport all still very much in the mix. The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship resumes at Thruxton (25/26 July).
